# 34: Discovering the National Aquarium NZ

The weather is still pretty wild here, so decided to be touristy and check out our local aquarium and point my eyes at some fish.

kiwiThe National Aquarium on Marine Parade in Napier is pretty small, but also impressive. For $20 (can’t get away with child entry), I saw all number of marine life, from piranhas, to creepy eels, but also reptiles such as bearded dragons, and native NZ animals such as penguins and…

KIWIS! Yes, after being in the country for 11 months, I’ve finally seen a real life kiwi. And they are a lot bigger than I thought they would be. I always pictured a kiwi as being palm sized, but they are actually the size of a small dog. And mega cute.

It’s dark in the enclosure but you can just make the little big fella out…

For an interesting, yet not the cheapest, day out – 3 out of 5 stars
