Today’s new discovery, was the existence of this. A Buddha’s Hand, or a ‘fingered citron’. It’s called a Buddha Hand because…well, it looks a little like a hand I guess. And maybe it came from India or China?
Anyway, I found it today in the fresh fruit aisle of my local Farro. You can’t eat a Buddha’s Hand apparently. You can’t even juice it, as it’s all pith and rind, but you can use the rind for zesting, to add to cakes. Or flavour vodka.
Not a life-changing new thing today, but it’s still knowledge I didn’t previously have, albeit about a fruit that it’s unlikely I’ll ever buy.
