So recently I ticked off one of my ‘NZ Bucket List’ items by completing the Tongariro Crossing with a couple of friends.

There’s been a lot of unsettled weather here on the North Island these last few weeks, and so we really lucked out with the weather, enjoying a clear day and views all the way to Mount Taranaki in the West, and uninterrupted views of Mount Ngauruhoe (aka Mount Doom LOTR fans). The 12 Runs of Christmas (part 2)

It’s done! I completed the 12 Runs for Christmas Challenge today, covering 42kms in 12 days. Well, actually over seven days, as on three days last week I deemed it too hot to run, and over the weekend I decided to go paddle boarding and then to drink cocktails with a friend, so not much no actual running took place. The 12 Runs of Christmas…

Tomorrow marks the first day of the 12 Runs of Christmas Challenge  organised by Running on the Spectrum – a New Zealand charity organisation “…that provides an opportunity for children with Autism to receive an exercise program as well as be part of the running shoes program whereby they receive a pair of running shoes. Running On The Spectrum also aims to present talks to schools throughout New Zealand to present talks about living with Autism to children and parents”. Continue reading “The 12 Runs of Christmas…”

Queenstown Half Marathon

This weekend I ventured south to take on the Queenstown Half Marathon. Originally I had registered to take part in the full marathon, but after something went ‘ping’ in my thigh on a training run a few months ago I got a little behind on the training – so downgraded to the half marathon.
